Selectmen's Minutes - November 13, 1990
November 13, 1990    Present:  Judith A. Murdoch, Vice Chair

Board commended Officer Joseph Larkin for his actions on October 28, 1990 when he responded to the Sharland household  on Fairwood Drive for a choking problem.  Officer Larkin performed the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the substance.

Conservation Commission members met with the Board to protest the posting of the Smith-Nawazelski property wit;hout their agreement and input.  

Janet VanSteensel met with the Board to discuss some suggestions that would make the cash flow of the Town more obvious to the residents.

On motion by Mr. Crowley and 2nd by Fasci, Board voted that the Clerical Union that works in the Town Hall will be given the 23rd of November as a holiday.  The day after Thanksgiving is a holiday in the Town, and Town Hall is closed on that day.  Those persons covered by Wage and Personnel Bylaws will be allowed to have a floating holiday.

Board voted 4-0 on motion by Mrs. Fasci, 2nd Vess to allow the Hanson Girl Scouts to set up a display of Christmas Trees on the Town Hall Green and to decorate same.  On December 9th there will be Carolling and with Chief Huska's permission a bonfire and marshmallow toasting.

Mr. Crowley moved and 2nd by Vess to postpone action on the job description for the Administrative Assistant for the Board until November 19.  Were in general agreement with job and increase in hours for present clerical staff.

Mr. Vess moved and 2nd by Fasci to release the land on Hill St that was in 61-A.  The Water Dept. has tested and found it not worthwhile to pursue.  No other dept. has an interest in the land.  Atty. McCarthy will be so notified.

Motion by Mr. Vess, 2nd by Fasci that lights on side of the the building to be on.  (Mr. Vess will take care of turning one light on).  Approved 4-0.

Noted minutes of the meeting are not being done in the fashion as previously.  Motions and votes are being recorded.  Tapes are held until they can be checked.

Board voted to adjourn at 10:00 p.m.
